Theme A: Concepts of computer science
Computer fundamentals, networks, databases and machine learning.
Theme B: Computational thinking and problem-solving
Computational thinking, programming, object-oriented programming and, at HL, abstract data types.
Internal assessment: The computational solution, developed and documented by the student.

| 2 | Theme A: computer fundamentals and networks | Build accurate explanations and apply concepts to new contexts. |
| 3 | Theme A: databases and machine learning | Connect data, database and machine-learning concepts, including ethical considerations. |
| 4 | Theme B: computational thinking and programming | Specify problems, construct solutions, trace code and debug systematically. |
| 5 | Theme B: OOP and HL extension | Apply object-oriented principles; for HL, address abstract data types and deeper syllabus demands. |
| 6 | Case-study thinking and timed response | Apply knowledge to original scenarios, improve extended responses and finalize revision priorities. |
